T O U R N A M E N T

Hoist the Juneteenth Basketball Trophy and earn bragging rights for your team as winners of the FIRST EVER 3-on-3 Juneteenth Outdoor Basketball Tournament! The tournament is open to three age groups, for up to four players per team:

  • Adults 18+ 

  • Youth 14-17

  • Youth 10-13

Registration closes when all four teams are full in each division.

  • 4-team Final Four Tournament.  3 divisions.  

  • Win 1 game and advance to the championship. 

  • Pottstown Juneteenth Tourney shirts for all players

  • This event is an outside event on Downtown High Street Pottstown

  • Live DJ and music, food, and lots of basketball!

  • Division determined by age of the oldest player and coed teams are welcome.

tournament rules

  • Final four style tournament. 3 age groups, 4 teams each.

  • 4 players and 1 coach max per team.

  • Win one game and advance to championship.  Lose = out.

  • Seed determined by the order of which you register (1st and 2nd teams to register in each division get a rest before the championship!)

  • Two- Three- and Four- point shots may be scored during live play.

  • Four- point shots are when referee determines that one foot was touching spot when shot was initiated.

  • Made shots will during live play (not foul shots) will give possession to other team at half court circle.  Defense may not enter the circle to start the play.

  • One free throw and the possession is awarded for shooting fouls, with the choice of shooting a free throw (1 point), three or four point shot. 

  • Any player's 6th foul results in 1 point and loss of possession

  • Games will be officiated by certified referees to ensure fair play.

  • Referees have the authority to make decisions on fouls, out-of-bounds, and other game-related matters.

  • 20 minute running clock.  Clock will run continuously; any substitutes will be made at a dead ball situation.

  • 4 pass max during last 2 minutes if 24-second shot clock not in effect.

  • Each team will be allowed one 60 second timeout, other stoppages are only for injuries. TV time outs may happen throughout the event.

  • Substitutions can be made during dead ball situations.

  • Teams must notify the referee of any substitutions.

  • Teams will be placed in the division of the oldest player.

  • Participants and spectators are expected to uphold the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship

  • Any unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification from the tournament.

  • Parents and spectators can be ejected from the event for unsportsmanlike conduct
